Tampa (31-4) tops NCBWA Division II Poll

WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – For the ninth straight week, the University of Tampa Spartans are the top-ranked team in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) top 25 poll. The Spartans are 31-4 on the season and have been the top-ranked team in every in-season NCBWA poll this year, after checking in at #3 in the preseason poll. This is the first time since the week one poll on Feb. 14 that the Spartans have not been the unanimous number one team, with Central Missouri picking up a first-place vote in this week’s poll.

The top nine teams are the same, with the only change being Missouri Southern and Ashland switching spots, with Missouri Southern at number eight this week and Ashland at nine. Mount Olive cracks the top 10 this week, moving up three spots from last week’s poll. Young Harris also moved up three spots this week, checking in at number 12 while Westmont also jumped three spots to number 17 this week.

There are three new teams in this week’s poll, led by number 20 Lubbock Christian. Augustana is back in the poll this week at number 24, while UNC Pembroke also returns to the poll, checking in at number 25.

The NCBWA Region polls will be announced every Monday throughout the season, with a new top 25 national poll coming out every Wednesday.
