Arkansas (19-3) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 27th year with its 2024 weekly surveys.

Arkansas, which ascended to No. 1 in the March 18 survey, retained its top position while Oregon State (No. 2) and Clemson (No. 3) held down their same slots from the previous poll. The SEC (11) and ACC (8) had a combined 19 schools represented in this week’s Top 25.

Some of the big movers from week five to week six were Virginia from No. 12 to 6, Wake Forest from No. 15 to 10, North Carolina from No. 17 to 11, DBU from No. 16 to 12, South Carolina from No. 25 to 16, and Virginia Tech (No. 18), Georgia (No. 22), Kansas State (No. 24) and NC State (No. 25) from receiving votes into the Top 25.

There have been 11 conferences (eight this week) represented in the first four standings of 2024, and there were 15 different conferences in the 2023 NCBWA polls.

The 2024 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. The ’24 season features 305 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools.
